Paris The City of Light, Love & Dreams
After our wonderful time in Tignes, it was time for us to begin the second half of our trip in Paris!
Paris has always held a special place in my heart since my flying days as a stewardess.. I didn’t wanna leave the job but it was time for us to start our family planning. I told myself one day when I have my baby I promise to bring him / her back to the City of Light. My City of Dreams.
If you keep on believing, someday the dream that you wish for will come true. Here we are, with my dearest Chriselle in Paris.

Day 1 - 22 Dec 2022
After a train journey from Tignes, we’ve finally arrived in Paris!
We checked into the Canopy by Hilton Paris Trocadero, which we stayed in during our 5 nights in Paris. Click here to read about our review of the hotel stay.
We then made our way to the iconic architectural beauty - the Eiffel Tower. It was Chriselle’s first time seeing it in real life and she was mesmerised at the sheer magnificence of it. I was so excited to be able to share this with her.
We stopped by Bistrot Le Poincaré, which served amazing French food and was actually recommended by the hotel concierge. This quaint restaurant at the corner of the street served hearty hot meals which were much needed after our long day.
Day 2 - 23 Dec 2022
We began the day with an awesome French breakfast at Carette. As Carette is usually packed with people, we were amazed when we managed to get a table with no queue at all! Truly witnessing the favour of God move in countless ways. Many thanks to the staff who were extremely warm and friendly. We would definitely recommend ordering the Hot Choco with Cream and the creamy scrambled eggs with ham and cheese.
A must-visit when you’re in Paris. This Carette branch was only a short 2 minutes walk away from our hotel.
Full and energised from breakfast, it’s now time for some shopping!
Our first stop was the Chanel and Dior boutiques at Rue Saint Honoré, which was a short walk from the Concorde metro station. We also stopped by Celine.
We then made our way towards the Champs-Élysées - Clemenceau metro station, in order to get to the Dior Galerie and café at Avenue Montaigne. This is also where Dior showcases its baby collection. How adorable! We had lunch at the Dior café which was so elegant and decadent.
One tip is to always ask for the Enfant menu if you are bringing your kids. The food for kiddies is always interesting and usually comes with dessert too.
If you’re craving something sweet, we recommend getting some sweet treats at the world-famous Amorina Gelato. We tried their gelato and their macaroons which were amazing and definitely satisfied our sweet tooth.
We ended the day by visiting our third Dior outlet for the day - Dior at Champs-Élysées. One of the reasons why I really enjoy shopping in Europe is that apart from tax refunds, the staff will also reward you with seasonal gifts!
Day 3 - 24 Dec 2022
We visited the Avenue de Camoens, an extremely popular spot in Paris for photoshoots. Do you see the wonderful backdrop of the Eiffel Tower? This is the perfect spot to admire its full splendour and glory and get your ootd, a must-visit!
The weather was slightly gloomy today, so we were a bit worried as we had an exciting experience planned for lunch. Thank God for holding back the rain for us… We boarded the Seine River Lunch Cruise for the 12.45pm lunch service. Having a scrumptious meal as we drifted down the Seine River, truly the best way to soak up the Parisian atmosphere!
We did some more shopping at Chanel…
Then, we headed to the Tuileries Garden Christmas Market near the Louvre. This was undoubtedly the biggest, liveliest, loudest and most fun-filled Christmas market. This seasonal market was absolutely bustling with Christmas festivities and thrilling carnival rides. I’ve lost count of how many times Chriselle rode on the carousell!
There was mulled wine, yummy local snacks, desserts and a bountiful array of various little knickknacks to buy. The Christmas light decoration was mesmerising and it really brought on that special Christmas magic. This is a must-visit if you are in Paris during the Christmas season, and it usually lingers on until the first week of January.
For dinner, we met with our family friend Lara and Nicolette at Bofinger (Address: 5-7 Rue de la Bastille 75004 Paris) where we had the freshest and most succulent oysters we’ve ever eaten. Highly recommended! The sauerkraut was really interesting as well.
Day 4 - 25 Dec 2022
It was a very Merry Christmas in Paris indeed! Blessed to be spending Christmas in Paris this year. Going wild on our adventures since Santa only comes once in a year…
We visited the iconic Louvre Museum, where we spent a day appreciating all the beautiful art pieces. The closest metro station was the Palais Royal-Musée du Louvre which made the journey there super convenient. We had so much fun just spending time together there as a family and snapping some memories to keep.
We also spent time at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris.
Near these landmarks was the Au Pied de Cochon (Address: 6 Rue Coquillière 75001 Paris) where we had dinner with Lara and Nicolette again. The food at the Au Pied de Cochon was absolutely scrumptious. They served traditional French cuisine and the staff were extremely welcoming, which made the whole experience so pleasant. We highly recommend ordering their escargot and the mussels with a generous topping of bacon bits. So yumz!
Day 5 - 26 Dec 2022
We had a slow day today, just exploring and chilling around Paris on Day 5. We visited the Arc de Triomphe where we took some cool pics and reels. Click here for some photoshoot tips for your next trip.
Many kudos to Ivan The Hair People for taking such great care of my hair and keeping them smooth and manageable, all these years especially when I’m on the go. Also couldn’t believe my lashes stayed intact with crystals on for 2 whole weeks! Lovin’ the touch of crystal to match our White Christmas in Tignes. Thank you so much to Kathy from Carragheen!
We had lunch at the iconic Restaurant Le Train Bleu (Address: Place Louis Armand 75012 Paris) in Gare de Lyon. It's seriously so good, hands down one of the best meals we've had in Paris thus far. Literally stood in awe when we found ourselves warmly welcomed into the distinctively majestic setting the moment we stepped in..The tender rack of lamb was by far one of the best meals hubbz had in this gastronomy city. This restaurant is highly recommended for their high quality food!
Day 6 - 27 Dec 2022
After another morning of exploration and just soaking in the Paris vibes, we headed to the Queen Donuts café for tea. This pretty café was decked out in pastel hues with many wonderful flowers everywhere. We were accompanied by many cute teddy bear friends placed around the interior as we enjoyed our dessert. The donuts were light and sweet, yet not overpoweringly so. That’s what I love about the desserts here. Chriselle absolutely loved the donuts and it warms my heart to make her so happy with such a simple treat. Everyday we count our blessings…
Kudos and super grateful to the hubbz for planning this amazing trip.
We packed up and headed to the airport for our flight home. We were sad to be leaving this wonderful city. But alas, we had to head home because the lil one is starting a new chapter in her life as a primary one student. Chriselle has been such a trooper this trip, and we hope this bravery will follow her through life. We’ve been emphasising a lot on the importance of gratitude this trip, and we’re so proud of her for being mature enough to practise reflecting and being thankful for all our blessings.
To the world, this might be just another trip but to me it’s everything. It was my dream destination, made all the more better that I get to share it with my baby girl… Sealing 2022 and starting 2023 with the best memories with my loved ones.
